A new hybrid model prioritizing tech and partnerships could mean better coverage and expanded reach for small businesses. That’s what Mike Carvalho, our VP of Insurance Panel and Partnerships, outlines in his new piece for Digital Insurance Magazine. He offers insight on  the obstacles small business owners face when insuring their livelihoods, and how agents can adapt to meet their needs.

“Many small business owners are focused on running their operations and often don’t have the time or expertise to navigate insurance requirements. They may not know what coverage they need, how to compare options, or who to trust, which can often make the experience overwhelming.”

Advancements in insurtech have enabled agents to access more options from a wider range of carriers, with next to no overhead or extra work. Not only does this mean more choices are available for their clients — it also might mean agents can take on more diverse clientele, including small business owners.

Strategic partnerships are one way that agents can reach that small business customer base. Depending on traditional growth is a thing of the past. Small business owners rely on a variety of services and software to keep things running. By partnering with the companies offering these services, agents can reach business owners where they are by offering themselves as a convenient, integrated coverage solution.

“These integrations aren’t just about offering insurance. They’re about solving real partner pain points and in doing so, creating insurance moments that matter.”
